If you do things right after you’re gone providing you don’t close the door completely you have the opportunity to come back later. Things can change within a company and you might want to go back there in the future.

When it comes to quitting your job, your employer may choose to do an exit interview. It’s important that you recognize how important this exit interview is. If you are busy trashing the employer during this process, it will haunt you forever. In fact, if you have an option, skip the exit interview and just leave on good terms. And if you must do an exit interview then tell them it was fantastic even if it wasn’t.
4. Set Yourself Up So That You Get a Good Reference
Smart employees leaving a company set themselves up so that there is nothing negative to haunt them for the rest of their working life. While the law encourages past employees to not say anything bad about their past employees, the fact is it happens. So instead, no matter what you are thinking, make it an exit that won’t get you a nasty recommendation.
