A person has several interests, with only the percentage of interest changing. Also the interests of a person changes as they grow up. A small kid who likes drumming when they are young may eventually like the violin at a more mature age and finally take to the piano.
Therefore, one should wait until they become mature enough to decide which of their interests actually something that they look forward to pursuing is.

Exploring
A perfect career may be your favorite hobby. As it with hobbies – if you don’t like one, you get to know another hobby. So, when you have to take a decision for a career, think about a career to be one of your hobbies/interests extensions. This could make your selection process easier and enjoyable.
Another interesting way to exploring your interest is to think – “would I do this career for free?” If the answer is “yes I do”, then, it might turn to be a good career choice.

Personal Skills
Your interest in a particular activity (for example – an hobby) does not always mean that you would have the skills to take it up as a profession. Make sure that you have the skills that are needed for the career that you plan.
Also, you will have to make sure that you can enhance your skills quickly and in an economic manner. Your personal skills also matter a lot while deciding which career you wish to go ahead with.
For example, some of your personal skills like leadership, dedication; volunteering, management etc are useful while deciding which career you would like to go ahead with.

The career that could perfectly suites you can be evaluated according to the following aspects:

Difficulty
Sometimes, one is interested in an activity, but it is not clear (or noticeable) that they may be actually being able to pursue it as a profession.
For example, many people are interested in computers and computer games, but it is not obvious that they may be actually be good at designing a game or making a computer game. Therefore, it is necessary for you to gauge whether the interesting career that you wish to pursue is simple to achieve or not.

Feasibility – financial aspect
Not everyone can undertake a profession and pursue it without a financial aspect attached to it. In today’s world, it is extremely important that one has a career interest that is financially viable and rewarding. Also, one should ensure that the activity they are interested should be realistic as a career – one should be able to upgrade his knowledge to a career and therefore to a quicker rate.

Dedication
You will also have to work out how many hours you would have to dedicate for the job per day. Though it may not seem so, in the long run, family comes first and you should figure out on how many hours per day you would have to work and how it would be incremented as you grow more in your job.  

Attitude & values
It goes without saying that the attitudes in every business and profession are quite different when compared to each other. You would have to keep in mind which kind of attitudes you are comfortable with.
